Be on the lookout for Your "ghost riders" and "gunfighters" on this Ghost Town and Gold Mine Tour. It all happens in Oatman, Arizona, an authentic western ghost town and mining camp – located along historic Route 66.

Founded in 1906 and nestled in the Black Mountains of the Mohave Desert, Oatman is the lone survivor of the numerous communities that sprung up in the area during the Gold Rush days of the old west.

Take your picture with one of the friendly donkeys that roam the streets of this old west mining town. Stroll into many of the original historic buildings located on this historic and famous highway.

See the Oatman Hotel where Clark Gable and Carol Lombard spent their wedding night and where “Oatie The Ghost”, an Irish Miner who died in 1930, is said to reside.

Lunch is at the Prospector Cafe, then enjoy a 45-minute guided walking tour of a real old time underground gold mine is part of this adventure. It’s always a comfortable 70 degrees in the mine shaft. Discovered in 1902, it has been reported that by 1907, The Gold Road Mine property had milled 140,000 ounces of Gold.

Join the 500,000 tourists who visit Oatman each year. Shop in the original buildings that extend the four blocks of town that are left as a reminder of the wild west and Route 66. The tale of Jose Jerez, who discovered the original mine, is kept alive by Oatman’s 150 residents.
